“I’ve spent my entire career organizing and producing bespoke events in high fashion,” says Eric Chavez, Owner of  Chavez Design, Lavender Lake, and Nihil Gallery. “I’m excited to apply that level of expertise to metal, skating, bikes, and art, as these are all equally close to my heart.  This part of Brooklyn is ripe for an event like UNINVITED. The environment has this raw energy that I’ve enjoyed translating into a festival atmosphere,” adds Chavez. “Attendees can come and actually stay on-site for a few days and be truly immersed in the madness.”

Metalheads and Hard Rock enthusiasts are encouraged to join in the first-ever Brooklyn-based festival. Once Uninvited, there is little reason to leave.

ABOUT ERIC CHAVEZ
When Eric Chavez settled in Gowanus, Brooklyn, his neighbors were empty lots and broken windows. Although his mainstay was Event Production Design + Fabrication, within months, Chavez had rounded up partners and opened Lavender Lake, a gastropub adventurous enough to be the cornerstone destination in the hood.      Sensing a permanent shift in the area, the next project was an art gallery to satisfy the need for off-beat culture and a gathering place for new, young, local blood to see and be seen. Eric’s currently owns and operates Chavez Design, Lavender Lake, and Nihil Gallery.

 ABOUT NIHIL GALLERY
The location was previously used as a bus repair shop and sat abandoned for several years before being discovered by Chavez. At which time it was immediately gutted to the shell and slowly transformed into the space it is today.  It has two 70’ x 15’ display walls, a  20’ x 25’ “retail experience” area, track lighting, natural lighting, pro audio system, video system, plenty of power, and a workspace to support   any   customers   needs. With   Eric’s   years   of   working   in   photo   studios,   art   galleries,   warehouse   spaces,   and   locations,   he applied his expertise to the buildout of the space making it unique in its ability to be multi-use.   From art exhibitions, special events, photography studio, movie premiers, and on.      Thus the name, NIHIL GALLERY.  The idea is that the gallery means nothing, and it’s 100% about the works within the space.
