When did you begin playing music, Brett?

In the days of my youth.

Who are some of your favorite artists, and favorite surf guitar legends?

Visually, I stick up for Raymond Pettibon. And on the subject of Rays, Link Wray was marketed as a surf guitarist but that type of label was severely short-sighted. No one likes to be pigeon-holed or painted into a corner by others- unless, of course, that corner is painted by Raymond Pettibon. Pettibon's surfing imagery is hypnotic. Link Wray's hypnotically repetitive use of the power chord is meditative.

Will you playing any live dates?

Yes, they're listed HERE

Why is psychedelic music so popular?

I can't quite put my finger on it.

How do you work out your compositions?

It's a rigorous program utilizing full court 5-on-5 drills as well as ancient yogic practices; the important thing is to always remember to stretch before and after.

What was the experience like working with Ty Seagall?

Wildly… professional. He runs a label like he runs a marathon - with stamina.

Do you enjoy playing live?

> Absolutely.

What does the future hold for you?

My immediate future holds the consumption of a red curry dish and time spent soaking in hot salt water.

You combine a number of musical genres to create your music, Brett. How do you finally create the sound that you are looking for?

The sounds combine themselves, I am merely their vessel.

Why does surf guitar sound continue to be popular to listeners?

Must be the sun and the fun?

Could you tell us about the recording of the new album-were there many takes to get the sound that you wanted?

Many takes often resulted in the sounds I didn't want; fewer takes typically yielded the desired effects.
