We have decided to part ways with our dear friend and brother Erik Palm. This decision is made with the utmost respect for each other and has been made unanimously by the three of us. The reason for this, and for the previously announced hiatus, is that we simply do not share the same goals as we once did. At least as far as music and Pike goes.
But we part ways on the best of terms and we are still the best of friends. And we always will be. We wish to thank Erik for everything he has done for our band during the years and for everything he brought to the table. And we also wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
We had plans to form a new band, with a new name, but we ultimately decided that it would be a shameful waste to throw away everything we have worked for and achieved with Pike during the past six years and start all over again. We were looking for a guitar player for that proposed new band. But we have shifted our focus and the focus of the search. We are now right in the middle of the process of finding a new guitar player who will fit with us, both musically and personally, to be a part of Pike.
It is not an easy task, but we will prevail. We will let you all know who this person will be as soon as we have found him.
Oh, and if you didn't get it, the previously announced hiatus is over. This prolonged state of hibernation we've been in for the past two years is over. Pike will return stronger than ever. Death, doom and destruction will reign and we will fuck you up. And you can take that as a promise.
